Exposure to sunlight, dust, smoke, humidity, soot, ocean air, and oily particles can shorten the life of your window treatments and, if not removed, can contribute to air contamination in your home or office. Glyndon Lord Baltimore Cleaners has the expertise and experience to clean and revive your window treatments. We are also one of the few cleaners that cleans and pleats drapes and curtains in our own facility. Take-down and re-hang service is available as well.

Hand-Pressed Table and Bed Linens

Fine table linens and bedding receive VIP treatment at Glyndon Lord Baltimore Cleaners. After careful inspection, stains are pretreated by hand, from gravy and oils to coffee, wine and wax. Members of our staff have over 30 years of expertise identifying stains and what it takes to remove them. After pretreatment and the appropriate cleaning method, delicate linens will be hand ironed to enhance every detail and provide a beautiful finish.

Comforters, Quilts and Duvets

Cleaning your comforters, duvets, and bedspreads is important. As with your sheets, they can easily collect allergens, bacteria, pet hair, and other particles that may not be good for the health of you and your family. Check the care label to determine if your comforter, duvet, or bedspread requires dry cleaning. If the care label states to launder an item, professional cleaning helps to avoid the fiber filling shifting or bunching up or having the colors run and fade. There is also a risk of shrinkage or of down feathers losing their airiness during the drying process if not done properly. Weighted Blankets

Weighted blankets are becoming more popular and have special cleaning needs. The principle behind weighted blankets is to create a sense of relaxation. Weighted blankets are filled with weighted materials, such as plastic pellets, discs, poly pellets, glass beads, or polypropylene plastic beads. These weighted materials are sewn into pockets that are relatively small in a diamond or square pattern to ensure the material stays in place. The feeling of weighted physical pressure is thought to have a calming effect.

Some manufacturers recommend dry cleaning and others recommend laundering weighted blankets. If laundering is recommended, the added weight of the blankets can be challenging to some home washing machines. If a weighted blanket is over 10 lbs., professional laundering is recommended. Keeping weighted blankets clean and fresh helps ensure their ability to provide a sense of calm and relaxation.
